Have you ever wished that you could be absolutely sure that God
would answer each one of your prayers? Can such thinking be considered
foolish, mere presumption or even fantasy? No! – For God is real and He rewards those who seek Him! "But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6 Not long ago I heard
someone pray; "Lord, if it is your will, please, heal me!" God cannot
answer such prayer. Why - because, it is not a prayer of faith. When I
ask for healing, I have to know first whether God wants to heal me. If
it were not the will of God to heal me, then it would suggest that His
will for me was sickness. This is simply not true, because it is the
devil that comes to steal, to kill and to ruin, not Jesus! God has revealed His will in His Word, the Bible: "... for I am the LORD that healeth thee." Exodus 15:26 " ... with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows." Isaiah 53:4 Jesus said to His disciples, "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:24 It
is Jesus himself who encourages us to ask in His Name. He does not say,
"maybe", "perhaps" or "possibly" we will receive, rather when we ask in
His Name, we "will" receive. So when I ask God in the Name of
Jesus Christ for something according to His will, Jesus has already
promised me the answer to my prayer! For Jesus loves me and wants my
joy to be full in Him! Jesus honors His Word! – Isn't that a wonderful promise? We will get everything we ask according to His will! The Bible excludes every doubt: "And
this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing
according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us,
whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired
of him." 1 John 5:14-15 God's will for me is healing, life in abundance, wellbeing: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 1:2 The
blessings of Abraham belong to me! – This is not presumptuous, this is
faith! God is not offended by this, just the opposite, He enjoys it: "But without faith it is impossible to please him ..." Hebrews 11:6 So how can I be sure that God hears me and answers my prayer? - I check the Word of God and His promises, whether my request is in the will of God.
- I
internalize God's promises in the Word that assure me that my request
is in His will. If I need healing, I read scriptures about healing and
think about them. I ask the Holy Spirit to bring these promises so
close to me that they bury deep into my heart.
- Now I
know that I am praying according to God's will and by faith I ask God
in the Name of Jesus Christ for the fulfillment of my request.
- I thank God for the answer to my prayer and I make plans, knowing that my prayer was heard.
- I give testimony about His wonderful intervention in my life.
Many
times people ask me why we experience such a flood of conversions,
signs and miracles during our crusades. This is actually a question of
faith. When we prepare for a crusade, we always set aside one or two
hours following the altar call, to allow people to give testimony of
their healings. I could never imagine that there wouldn't be healings
and testimonies, because God confirms His Word when it is preached! And
God answers such faith again and again, so that hundreds of people are
able to report how God has touched, healed and changed them forever! Why
does God do all these things? Because He loves us! Faith works only
when it is used by love! Not by egoism or showing off, but by love and
to the honour of God! God loves to glorify the Name of Jesus! Pray in faith and expect great things from God! |
