Despite the warnings of the Foreign Office not to travel to Pakistan; the contemporaneous war in Iraq; the advice of many Christians within Pakistan, who considered a Gospel Campaign of this extent as much too dangerous at this time, and despite all manner of threats against the campaign – we went ahead with our Miracle Campaign in the city of Faisalabad. And God did indeed recompense us for our obedience: His peace rested constantly over the entire campaign – not one incident occurred – and the people flocked to this special gathering to hear God's Word and to experience His power.

In Pakistan, our campaigns are of such popularity that people from all parts of the country often travel for several days in order to participate and to experience God's Word. "It was important to me to let the people know that Jesus Christ loves them, no matter which religion they belong to or where they come from. Many unbelievers were healed from 'incurable' diseases such as cancer, blindness, dumbness, etc. ... It seemed like God wanted to say to the Pakistani people: «I love you and I care about you!»", Evangelist Andreas Huebner said. In total, about 90,000 people came to hear the Gospel during the five day campaign, and more than 50,000 received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Evening after evening, tens of thousands of people gathered on the "Panto Ground" which was "bursting at the seams". The whole area around the campaign ground was filled with people who could find no place but who were longing to hear the Word of God.

Among the thousands upon thousands who came were politicians and other high profile personalities who heard the Gospel and received salvation in Jesus Christ. The government provided for our security and made their police motorcades and special security men available, to accompany us through the city and watch over the meeting.

Jesus Christ Heals And Delivers

We have never before experienced miracles happening in such abundance and with such speed as during the Miracle Campaign in Faisalabad. In particular, on the last evening, many thousands experienced God's supernatural intervention during the healing prayer. Many of them threw their crutches into the air! Others stood there, with tears flowing down their cheeks: They were totally overwhelmed by God's love and His healing power. Blind eyes and deaf ears were opened. The tongues of the dumb were loosed. The paralyzed rose up and started to run!

Once again God glorified Himself in a way that exceeded all our expectations: "Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!"

Special attention was aroused by the deliverance of a young man who was strongly possessed by demons: He habitually climbed the electricity masts and moved hand over hand along the high-voltage power cables. The police had tried again and again to hold him back but nobody could restrain the man: However, while he listened to the Word of God, the anointing of the Holy Spirit came upon him and suddenly he was totally set free from the powers of darkness. Full of joy he gave testimony about his deliverance, and the whole city rejoiced with us over this work of God.

In addition to all the marvelous healings that took place, the miracle of a small boy deeply moved the hearts of the stage-team who were taking down the testimonies that took place. The boy came to the Miracle Campaign with a cancerous growth on his chest the size of an orange: While Evangelist Andreas Huebner prayed for the sick, the cancer suddenly disappeared. The place of the cancer was clearly visible as exactly at that place the skin now looked young and smooth like "baby skin"!

Lasting Fruit

As an Evangelist, Brother Huebner very often faces the prejudice that the breakthroughs seen at our Mass Miracle Campaigns are only temporary – that the fruit would not last. But if we regard our last Miracle Campaigns, whether in Africa, the Middle East or in Asia, one must come to the conclusion that this is not correct. In Pakistan once again, we have met many who experienced God's supernatural work during our 2000 and 2001 campaigns and who – as a result – have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And the ministers of local churches have assured us that our campaigns have caused phenomenal growth in their churches.

In total, about 90,000 people came to hear the Gospel during the five days of the campaign and more than 50,000 of them received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Mass Miracle Campaigns are an invention of God – not of man – as the events in the book of Acts prove to us. Jesus again and again spoke to enormous crowds of people. In the Gospel of John it says, "...a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased." And so it is still today. Every human being who hears the pure Gospel and who experiences the power of it experiences revival in his heart. Each soul, who hears the call of God and turns to Jesus Christ experiences personal salvation. Even if tens of thousands come to the campaigns, the people experience salvation individually, how could it be otherwise?

As I am praising the Lord for the wonderful work He has done in Pakistan again and again I ask myself this one question: When will we experience something comparable in the United States, Canada, Great Britain or Europe? Surely not if we try to limit God's move to the borders of our church or denomination. But if we become as one – as the Christians in Faisalabad have demonstrated – we will experience in Washington, Ottawa, London or Berlin how tens of thousands will receive new life in Christ, as I was allowed to experience it in Pakistan. For my part I am prepared to serve the Lord in these nations in the same way I already serve Him in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. It's time for revival!
