March 7 - 10, 2002 On March 7, 2002, the world fell apart for Tiree Kairikove. She is seven months pregnant, but the child in her womb no longer moves. The little heart of her baby has stopped beating. The child has died and will have to be removed from her body. You can't imagine the pain, her heart is broken; there is no more hope! But that night the Spirit of God led Tiree to the Independence Arena to the Miracle Crusade. While she was listening to the sermon, she suddenly couldn't believe her ears. Evangelist Andreas Huebner stopped preaching and gave a Word of Knowledge, "There is a lady here with a dead baby in her womb! Pay attention to what is happening right now! This very moment God is raising your baby from the dead! Amen!". Almost like lightning from heaven the anointing of the Holy Spirit fell upon the body of the pregnant woman. All at once she could feel the baby in her womb move again – and move intensely. Totally overwhelmed by the love of God and the flow of His power through her, Tiree was at first unable to express her joy. When Brother Huebner asks the woman for whom the Word of Knowledge was meant to come up to the crusade platform, she was too afraid to come because of the crowd of people. The evangelist gives a further Word of Knowledge: "You are too shy. You are afraid. But your baby is alive! Hallelujah!" – One week later Tiree contacted a pastor and tells him, "I am the woman whose baby was raised from the dead in the womb!" And on Sunday, March 17, she gave testimony in that church about the powerful touch from God that she has experienced. Miracle Crusade in Windhoek, Namibia There is no greater blessing for me than preaching the Gospel in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. Again and again I am excited to preach about God's resurrection power, His love and His compassion. And again and again I experience how the Spirit of God brings God's joy and how weary, sad and hopeless faces begin to shine with His brightness. Beauty for ashes! Oil of joy for mourning! Simple But Full Of Power "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." 1 Corinthians 2:2 Jesus Christ doesn't give tranquillizers to those who come to our crusades that they may "die in peace". He doesn't only give them hope, He rescues them and provides salvation, deliverance and healing! – Every night in Windhoek I preached the Gospel in a simple and intelligible way. "The same power that has raised Christ from the dead is here tonight!" and "Death is swallowed up in victory! O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?". On one of the nights I shouted: "If life and death confront one another, life will always be victorious!" This truth touched the hearts of the listeners so much that it took several minutes before the cheering of the crowd died down, and I could continue with my message. A great number of those present at the crusade were infected with the deadly HIV virus. They all want to visit their doctors now, so that they can confirm the healing. Jesus Christ is "the life" himself. He conquered death on the cross, once and forevermore. People don't need a religious liturgy, they need the Word of the cross. And I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation! | Shining faces, when God intervenes – Rijanekee Upi, who was deaf in her left ear, after her healing, at the "ear test". | God's Wind In Windhoek Windhoek doesn't really deserve its name which means "windy corner", because the city is surrounded by the protecting Auas and Eros mountains. The heart of Windhoek is beating in the north-western district of Katutura. "Katutura" means "the place where we don't want to live". The name is meant to be a symbol for the terrible cruelties people suffered in the years prior to independence and the abolition of apartheid. But during the days of our Miracle Crusade, Windhoek indeed deserved its name: The wind – it was almost a storm – of the Holy Spirit visited the city. I do not believe it was the daily TV-spots, radio interviews or newspaper reports that drew the people to the Independence Arena in Katutura; it was God himself who touched the hearts of the people by His Holy Spirit and moved them to come. The crusade was a total victory. The numerous signs and wonders that occurred during the four nights speak for themselves. Where the unadulterated Gospel is being preached, Jesus Christ himself confirms His Word! The messages were translated into Afrikaans, the most generally understood language in the southern part of Africa, so that all could comprehend the Word of God. The new converts have all received baptism in the Holy Spirit and will be personally taken care of and integrated into local churches. At The Top Of Their Voices For me Africa is the continent of lively, happy, anointed and – most of all – "loud" praise. In the years that I have been traveling throughout Africa, I have become so used to it that something always seems to be missing when I preach the Gospel elsewhere. Although Namibia is the least typically African nation – greatly influenced by Europeans, especially Germans – praise and worship are typically African. I really knew that I was "in Africa", when the anointed choir began to praise the Lord at the tops of their voices. Every night heavy thunderstorms broke out all around Windhoek, but in the stadium it remained dry during the meetings. Only on the last evening, towards the end of the meeting, it suddenly began to rain, and the rain was so heavy that we had to switch off parts of the sensitive PA system. Because of this it was impossible to me to officially say goodbye to the visitors to the crusade, but I think this was indeed not necessary as surely this was not our last crusade in Windhoek. This night I laid my hands on hundreds of people who wanted to receive a special anointing for their ministry for the Kingdom of God and His work. A New Unity We wanted the pastors and spiritual leaders of Namibia to be blessed in a very special way. Accordingly, about eighty of them gathered in a hotel in Windhoek for a special breakfast meeting. But not every victory is happy in the beginning! The mood was serious and my message to the pastors was "uncomfortable": It was an exhortation to unity. But then I was allowed to see how the Spirit of God melted the hearts of those present and they received restoration and healing from all bitterness and scars in their souls. Tears of repentance were shed, and those gathered laid their ministries anew on God's altar and re-dedicated their lives to the Lord. Jesus Christ, The Greatest Of All Physicians The report about Tiree Kairikove whose baby was raised from the dead in her womb is only one of many, many testimonies about the miracles that God performed during the crusade in Windhoek. Here are some further miracle testimonies that our team wrote down during the crusade. As you read these reports, please don't forget: What God has done for these people, he can do for you and your loved ones – any time, any where, even right now! Elizabeth Uiras was almost totally blind in her left eye. The doctors told her that there was no hope and that her eye would have to be totally removed very soon. During a Word of Knowledge from Brother Huebner, she ran to the platform to receive her healing. But as she walked home after the prayer, she felt intense pain on her eye and was afraid that it might fall out. However, some hours later the pain ceased and miraculously the eye was totally healed. Now she has perfect sight. Rijanekee Upi, a young girl, was totally deaf in her left ear. On the first night of the crusade she ran up to the platform and testified that Jesus Christ had opened her ear. They put a hand over her right ear and Brother Huebner whispered softly into the left one. Rijanekee was able to repeat every word loudly and clearly! Monsozi Ngenda was HIV positive, addicted to drugs, and suffering from chronic depression, bronchitis and severe pains in the chest area. As Brother Huebner lay hands on her, all her physical problems disappeared as well as her drug addiction. Monsozi is absolutely convinced that the Lord has also healed her from AIDS! Sophia Gei-Khoebes, an older lady, receives Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and – while she is following the altar call – she receives healing from breast cancer! Elizabeth Mbwale had a brain tumor. Brother Huebner gives a Word of Knowledge about the healing of a person with a brain tumor, but Elizabeth is uncertain if she is the person referred to, and goes home without responding to the call for prayer. Nevertheless, her healing manifested. Suddenly the tumor had gone. On the fourth night of the crusade she came to the platform full of joy and gave testimony about her healing to the assembled crowd! There is no need for further comment on these healings. What Jesus does, he does perfectly! Impact On Windhoek And Namibia The Christians are overwhelmed by what God has done during the days of this crusade. I am quoting Pastor Simon Xaba who was responsible for the preparation of the crusade: "This crusade was truly an answer to our prayers. Evangelist Andreas Huebner's powerful and dynamic messages were filled with the anointing from God. His ministry has changed the spiritual atmosphere of Windhoek forever. The powers of darkness are bound and broken. It is a historic breakthrough! What an impact!" The extent to which the crusade has also reached the general public, shows in a statement by Christof Maletsky, Assistant News Editor of "The Namibian": "We have seen so many miracles throughout the crusade – people healed from cancer, deafness and blindness. [...] For the first time Windhoek and Namibia has seen someone being raised from the dead ... We praise God for what he has started through Brother Huebner and believe that he will continue to raise more people from the dead!" |
